The Best Disc Golf Courses in Texas
It seems like it was only yesterday that most touring players were in The Lone Star state, but in fact, it was over a month ago that we saw major competition and some exciting action in Texas. Everyone’s going to have their own personal favorites when it comes to the best disc golf courses out there, but for the sake of the argument, let’s just look at a few that deserve to be highlighted. If you’re ever in the South, you owe it to yourself to check out these beauties! Brazos Park East aka “The Beast” Set along the beautiful banks of the Brazos River, this course is a force to be reckoned with. It was the home of this year’s Waco Charity Open and saw some interesting weather along with some intense disc golf action. Featuring a nice mixture of technical wooded holes and a few areas to really air out bigger arms, Brazos Park East is a must-play. Flat CreekWith a few weeks to kill between major tour stops, quite a few players hang around the state and take part in The Open At Flat Creek. Now, if you’re not familiar with this particular course, get ready to book some plane tickets to Marble Falls right away! 18 holes grace the private property of a winery, with unique features and beautiful views nearly everywhere you look. Designed to have a country club type of feel, players enjoyed on-site meals and wine tasting. 2018 marked the fourth year this event has taken place, and it’s an A-tier that both pros and AMS alike speak about with rave reviews. A Look Into The FutureTexas disc golf is hot all season long, with several popular events taking place in May. Pros will be competing in Rockwall at the Nick Hyde Memorial, which is held this year at Harry Myers DGC. A well-maintained course that features a mix of both wooded and open holes, it offers a little something for everyone. Harry Myers tests your resolve with must-have holes in the 200-foot range but gives players the chance to take risks with several options measuring well over 500 feet. Installed in 2007, it deserves a spot on your bucket list.
